I went looking again at the house listings, and I found a larger place in the country with space to roam. Hmmm....:) The only thing that made me pause was the 200 amp service. I have no idea what that means, but it must be unusual, since they mentioned it. Good or bad and why?

It's normal - most houses have 200 amp service. I don't know why they mentioned it, unless it is a really old house and they are showing that it has been upgraded.

It is an older house - national folk/farm house or something like that. It has central air, though, and that's enough for me! We'll see what dh says. Thanks for the help!

You want 200amp service. We bought an older house that had 100 amp service and had a new breaker box installed with 200 amp. With all the electric stuff in houses these days include a/c, 200 amp service is the only way to go.
