How do I cook this corned beef???

I was given several packages of frozen corned beef, about 4-5 lbs. each. There are no cooking instructions on the package, and I've never cooked corned beef before. HELP!

:iagree: I agree with both of these actually. I put it in the crockpot, pour a can of water over it, and add about 1/2 a head of cabbage. A few hours before the end (can't remember how long but you should be able to look it up) add the potatoes and more of the cabbage if you want some that is still crisp.

If you don't want to do the crockpot you can boil it. I like it better boiled, as the extra liquid means it is less salty in the end. But I do add the beer, for sure!

This but I also add carrots. I do rince it off before I start cooking it as it can be pretty salty.

Yes, a bag of baby carrots too. I forgot that because the last two packages of corned beef we got were so huge the carrots didn't fit in the crockpot. Yum. We can only get corned beef in the spring, and now I'm craving it again.
