A home for their hearts Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I'm looking for ideas to play with my 8 month old. She is starting to become more playful so I thought it would be fun to get some fresh new ideas to play with her. I danced with her earlier today and she loved that, I got to hear her sweet baby laugh...ah they grow to fast! Any suggestions? Quote
Happy2bhome Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Paty-cake? This little piggy? This is the way the baby rides? Peek-a-boo:) Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Marc Brown (the creator of "Arthur") has a book on finger-plays that my babies loved to do with me. We did "This little piggy" (as was already mentioned) We did some imitation things - he/she would make a face, I'd make the same one, etc. . . . he/she would make a sound (ie. "ba!") and I'd make the same sound (and then make a new one "ma" to try to get them to try it). I love babies at this age! Quote
Cindy in the NH Woods Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 if you have an infant (outdoor) swing, we would pretend that the child was knocking us backward with their feet as they swung forward. Get as dramatic as you like! I've never met a little child who didn't go crazy with laughter at that. Oh, how I miss those things... sigh. Enjoy those giggles and squeals. Cindy Quote
