frugalmama
Okay in my book! Cold mac & cheese is a good dinner when it's hot too.
Lolly
It certainly is!
SunnyDays
I think I'd stick my head in the freezer for a while before I got the ice cream, too!! Ugh, poor thing... :grouphug: Do you not have A/C or is it broken??
Mommyof4ks
Yes, yes it is! I agree. When our a/c went out we had ice cream and lemonade for dinner one night lol. No one wanted anything hot, and I did not even want to make a sandwich. I hope it gets cooler soon.
JudoMom
Ayup. (I'm blaming a certain person whose name starts with A for this heat wave).
Ibbygirl
is it OK to have ice cream for dinner???? I am too hot to move. Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. You poor thing. Wet your hair and sit in front of a fan and that will cool you off. :grouphug::grouphug:
Mom22ns
You have my permission. (as if that really means anything)

Ugh, poor thing... :grouphug: Do you not have A/C or is it broken?? I live in Colorado and my neighborhood is older (when Colo wasn't very hot for very many days) so--- no a/c and I sort of became adverse to using it. I am seriously campaigning DH for a whole house attic fan!!! The basement is cool and it would suck all that air up here. Usually, we only have maybe 10-15 days of this type of heat in July/ August. This is going to be a long summer. WoW, the wind just picked up, it went from dead stagnant air to "gonna blow the house down"--still hot though. Gotta have something to do with the fires. Starr
Wow, miserable! Eat whatever you want. Isn't there somewhere to go with air conditioning? Maybe ice cream at the mall would be in order.
Kelly1730
I'd be making reservations and going OUT for dinner! Oh, when you call for the reservations ask to make sure their A/C is working;)

Maybe ice cream at the mall would be in order. My next door neighbor has a/c (we had dinner at her house two days ago) I was on the phone with her and she went outside to look at the smoke from the fires, when she came in she said "brrrr it's cold in here". I don't like her as much as I used to. LOL The wind is really picking up, we should get relief soon (still don't have anything for dinner though)

Jeannie in NJ
I actually did stick my head in the freezer a couple of days ago during our heat wave, it was quite refreshing. We also don't have ac (that is no central, we have a wall unit but it sounds like a jet plane so we try not to use it). OUr kitchen is being remodeled so out of commission for now. We are eating lots of deli, and 2 days ago had cold left over chinese food, it was very tasty seriously it was. Have your ice cream and enjoy. Hope you get relief from the heat soon. It feels so pleasant here now after the 3 or 4 days of heat wave.
Truscifi
Yes. Or cold leftovers, or going to for fast food if they have air conditioning. This would be the time to take advantage of the free wifi at many locations and just go sit for a while. Good luck!
Tohru
:grouphug: It was 100 here yesterday. Yuck. We don't have AC either, but I have a system in place that keeps the house kind of cooler...we shut all the windows and doors and curtains to keep the heat out for as long as possible. It helps that we have ceiling fans. I yell at any one that opens a door for more than 10 seconds. Then when the sun sets, I open everything up and let the night air cool the house as much as possible in preparation for the next day. This morning we started at an internal house temperature of 72. :glare:
mama2cntrykids
I might melt! It was 80 degrees in the house last night and I **had** to turn the air on. I'm a spoiled whimp though.
KarenNC
My sympathies. Our a/c went out yesterday afternoon and, while they came to work on it first thing this morning, it's now tripping the circuit breaker after being on for a relatively short time. I'm waiting now for the guy to come back to see what else needs doing. Luckily, today is not supposed to be as bad as yesterday (upper 80s rather than mid-90s). lexi
Most definitely!!! Our AC went out and it's hotter than that in our apartment. I just ate frozen yogurt. So, feel free to join me in misery! I hope you cool off soon!
ELITEANDLOVINGIT
You could make zip lock ice cream...and call it chemistry... http://chemistry.about.com/cs/howtos/a/aa020404a.htm For some reason (perhaps because I am in Wisconsin) this was the first thing that came to mind. :o) or You could take a trip to the store and call it economics... http://www.kidseconposters.com/keb/Title%20List%20Poster%20Set%20B/Interdependence/Follow%20Ice%20Cream%20Cone.htm or You could just sit outside and call it love :o)
