momofkhm Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 they don't know how to pee in the rain! :glare: Last year it was so nice not to have to dry feet and fur when the dogs came in at night. :) I never even thought about the ramifications on the younger dog's abilities. :001_huh: Now he is afraid of the rain. This makes 2 nights in a row that it was been raining when it is time to go out at night. Two nights where dh or I have chased him off the deck. Two nights in a row when he has not gone to the bathroom like he should. I certainly hope he gets over this soon. It's supposed to rain all (spotty!) all week. Quote
Jean in Newcastle Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 LOL! I'm sure he'll get the idea soon. There's only so long that they can keep crossing their paws. . . Quote
TammyinTN Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 You too...we have a 3 year old border collie and she will not go in the rain. I stand over her with a golf umberlla. My neighbors must think I'm nuts...probably right. :D Quote
genie Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 That's about like moving to Colorado after raising a dog in Florida! The first big snow we got was a blizzard, with about 18" of snow. Did I mention my dog is a miniature dachshund? Short legs and high snow don't mix too well! And snow that deep doesn't melt very quickly!! She went almost 48 hours without going to the bathroom AT ALL. We were even going to let her go in the garage, but I guess she "knew better". I wouldn't have even gotten upset with her if she had gone in the house by that point! I couldn't believe how long she held it. Couldn't have been good for her! We've been here two winters now, and she still hates the snow. Quote
3lilreds in NC Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 That is too funny! My dog doesn't like to go out in the rain either, but that's because he's a big ol' sissy. Right now there is a weed growing at the bottom of the stairs to our deck and I think it bothers him to go past it at night. He's just ridiculous. Quote
Tatt2mama Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Mine's like that too-a big scaredy cat. Anything new in and around the yard and he barks like crazy. Yesterday dh put up the beetle bags for the Japanese beetles we get, and then later when we let the dog out, he's out there barking and barking like there's a person out there-but he's just barking at the beetle bag! Trying to show it who's boss I guess... Quote
