help cleaning rustic table

Recommended Posts

I just got a new (to me) dining room table that has rough etched rectangles on the top (I previously had one with a rim all the way around...this is similar, except it's not finished smooth). I am not sure how to keep it clean. I've been keeping a tablecloth on it, but the design was what I liked about it - and now I can't see it.

I thought about a kitchen brush to get crumbs out, but if there's a spill, I'm afraid it might snag the cloth because of how rough the grooves are. Does anybody know what might work? Hopefully something easy....
