madteaparty
I've realised my (public school, afterschooled-in-math) son writes his letters in an unconventional manner which makes him take longer than it otherwise would. He hasn't had any formal handwriting practice other than what they teach him in school (if any). I was planning to do some copying practice with him this summer. Can you recomend a resource? Is he too old for Handwriting without tears? (I've heard that recomended here). What do you wise ladies use for copy practice? Thank you so much! Princess Peach
I used HWT with my (then) 8yo this past school year. It was recommended by the OT who tested him, but he was not offered services. It helped tremendously. We used the 1st grade level and it was a good fit for him. I will say that the 2-lined paper threw him off a bit and I ended up switching him to regular paper. But he has retained how to form the letters.
myfunnybunch
I'll second the Handwriting Without Tears suggestion. :) Cat
