This techy dunce needs advice.

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of getting this for my dds 10th birthday and Kmart has them for $30.00 this week. Amazon has a description of them but no reviews so I don't know how they really perform. And I am a techy dunce. I know nothing and I don't care to know more, so I need the help.

The Kmart clerk was shocked I didn't want an Ipod because be you can store pictures and watch movies, too. My thought on that is that my dd is only going to be 10, I don't want to go there at such a young age, and when and if I allow it later, technology will be much further advanced and as things get outdated, she'll be able to replace it with what she wants as she earns her own money. I think he was shocked also that I won't spend that much money on my dd. That's a lot of money on something she'll frequently misplace, if not lose within a year.

I'm sorry, but I am a techie dunce as well. You have to go ask another 10yo, they would be able to tell you all about it, I'm sure....

It wouldn't be the first time I asked a youngster for tech advice, but that's a good idea. :thumbup1: It would have to be someone who doesn't know us tho, cuz I don't know many 10 yo who could keep a secret.

Instead of a 10 year old - how about the advice of my 11 year old "Tech Support"? He says he does not know anything specific about that particular MP3 player (we have a Sandisk one - a little bit more expensive and plays video) . This particular player is a flash-memory using device. It will last longer than something like an IPod shuffle, which is comparable in size and in the fact that it has no video but uses a hard disk. A hard disk will eventually wear out. It should have instructions in the box to tell you how to put songs in it but you should probably be able to put them in using Windows Media Player on your PC or if you use a Mac, you should be able to use ITunes. If you have more questions feel free to ask. :gnorsi:

Huh??? I don't know how to translate that language, but you made me think about something. I don't want the movie watching thing, but for Christmas I like to buy the girls a camera, so it would be nice to have a device for music and storing pictures. Or is that a stupid idea? Would they just be duplicating pictures? What would your son recommend?
