dragons in the flower bed
My kids read the story of the Declaration from The American Story, and I will read the Constitution to all of them tonight during fireworks. I thought we had a copy of Alice Dagliesh's 4th of July around here somewhere, but it hasn't turned up. Maybe we had borrowed it from the library. DB in NJ
Well.... I had a 2-second conversation this morning with my 9 yo about what the 4th was about and what we were celebrating. Then we went to the movies (Kung Fu Panda). We'll watch fireworks on TV or off the back deck later. And we'll watch National Treasure because he wants to. I can tell you this much: if I tried to read the Constitution during fireworks, I'd lose my job. I think they'd hire themselves a new mom :D Good job!! It's just background noise for the littles, I think, but they're in silent aware at the fireworks anyway.
Jennifer in MI
Let's see - these boards!!! I also read another chapter in my book - ACT for Dummies (ds is taking it in the fall!). I also made a birthday present for a nephew, cleaned out my closet, cleaned out dd's closet, posted a bunch of things on Craig's List, weeded the yard, and cleaned out the garage. Do I get a "pass" on reading for today????
