athena1277
I'm trying to help dd with a puppetry badge and Google is just not being very helpful. What is Scandinavian black puppetry?
DawnM
I *think* they are marionettes that use black strings attached to them. Black background and black strings meant you didn't see the strings as easily.
Onceuponatime
Is it Scandinavian and not Japanese? The Japanese have a form of puppetry using puppeteers dressed in black.

athena1277
I have seen some things about the Japanese puppets, but the badge specifically says "Scandinavian black puppets" in the list of types to learn about.
Onceuponatime
I have seen some things about the Japanese puppets, but the badge specifically says "Scandinavian black puppets" in the list of types to learn about. That is strange. I poked around and the only other thing I could find is black light puppetry. However, other people seemed to have asked the same question about the Scandinavian puppetry.
