I think so, I could sure feel it at first, from my hips to all the way to my ankles lol. Now it is getting easier, I unlocked 10 minutes for hula hoops, not tried it yet though. I also really like the step arobics, and boxing, both of those have worked up a good sweat! The yoga and strength excercises really target your core muscles. All-in-all I think it is a brilliant concept, and all my kiddos really enjoy it also. I can see them coming out with separate games for it, like a step aerobics, boxing, etc. all its own cd/game. It can be a little cheeky though. Once when my younger boy was underweight(he's a skinny boy) for two days in a row, I signed and it asked me if I had noticed any changes with him. When I clicked no, it suggested I be more attentive to him!! Then when I hadn't logged on for a few days, it addressed me by a different name as if it did not know who I was.
