plain jane
I'd like to have the kids at co-op make salt dough maps but I know a couple of them have celiac. I'm not sure if rice flour can be substituted for regular flour for a map or will it not work out? What do I need to know about this? For many reasons, I do not want to do cookie dough maps ;) so any advice about salt dough (or other inedible creations) would be appreciated. Crimson Wife
Rice flour alone I don't think would work- you need a mix that has some rice flour and some starch (like corn, potato, or tapioca). I would personally use the Bob's Red Mill All-Purpose GF Baking Flour mix.
Mommee & Baba
Yes a mix as the PP'er said. I have celiacs as well as my dd7. We have some projects coming up that require "flour" to make paper mache and salt dough things and I'm going to be using a mix for those specific projects. You can mix up your own if you'd like, but the cost makes sense for convience to just buy the premixed stuff.
