K in MI
I have a 7th/8th ds who knows little about diagramming. I want to start using CLE English, and when we did the placement test, he did pretty well with everything but diagramming. Is there anything we could use to help him learn the basics rather quickly so he doesn't have to start CLE at the 4th or 5th grade level? Right now we're using LLATL green for the diagramming only, but I'm wondering if there is anything else we could use. TIA.
classics4us
you could try this site, http://www.geocities.com/gene_moutoux/diagrams.htm , this one might be better, http://home.new.rr.com/aplang/Diagramming/diagramming_main.html , if you want a workbook , Diagramming sentences Book A is inexspensive and good. It's out of print, though Rainbow Resources has it for $3.50 Mandie

laughing lioness
I really like "Our Mother Tongue." It is very simple to use, understandable and inexpensive. You will be diagramming well and with ease far before the end of the book.
Kareni
And, just for fun, you may wish to read Sister Bernadette's Barking Dog: The Quirky History and Lost Art of Diagramming Sentences by Kitty Burns Florey. Here's the Amazon link for more information: Sister Bernadette's Barking Dog Regards, Kareni
