PentecostalMom
My 6yo dd has developed a fascination with horses and I want to give her the opportunity to explore this more but I don't see any programs that I want to sink a lot of money into. WP and BF and both geared for olders. Do you have any good resources for horse studies for kids? She would love to learn to draw them, color pictures, read about them, just anything. Thanks for any help!
nellecv
Have you looked at the 4H curricula? There a a few different options. http://www.4-h.org/resource-library/curriculum/4-h-horse/ The youngest level is for grade 3, but there are probably parts of it you can use. Free Indeed
Amanda Bennet has a unit study on horses for that age group. It is in her Download and Go section.
Lily_Grace
Dover has several coloring books, including horse anatomy, The Wonderful World of Horses, and Big Book of Horses. There's also this book with lots of information and some crafts: Horse Crazy. It would be a read-aloud at her age, but it looks fascinating. LittleIzumi
Amanda Bennett has both a 1-week (HAH, it took us almost a month!) and a 4-week elementary unit on horses. Both of my girls loved the Handsome Horses we used. http://unitstudy.com/HandsomeHorses.html http://unitstudy.com/Horses_Study.html

Mrs Twain
My daughter did the horse lapbook from Hands of a Childl. I thought it was very good quality, and she learned quite a bit.
