KS_
Does anyone know what the free book selections for this year are? I tried to find them online, but either they're not listed online, or I just can't find them. I'd like to know before I get my kids interested in the program if the books offered would interest them or not. Thanks :)
shalom22
Is this what you are looking for? http://www.barnesandnoble.com/summerreading/ Summer reading with Andrew Clements Here's How It Works: 1. Kids read any 8 books. 2. Kids use the Summer Reading Journal to tell us their favorite part of each book. A parent/guardian signs it when it's complete. 3. Children bring their completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store between May 29th & September 2nd, 2008. 4. We'll give them a coupon for a FREE book! They choose from a list of exceptional paperback titles.* * Eligible books will be listed on the coupon. Choices must be made from eligible stock. No special orders. Limit of 1 form per school-age child (grades 1-6), please. Incomplete forms will be ineligible for free books.
LinRTX
I remember that two of them are Frindle and Half Magic. I also remember that I thought the selection was really good, not just the latest fad that I've seen some years. My little reader chose Half Magic even though she had already read it, but she had already read most of them from the library and it was nice to get one she could own and read over..and over..and over..and over... This kid likes to read and if she likes a particular book she reads it until she can almost quote every line. She loved the selection and had a very hard time making her selection. Book Crazy
I was in Barnes and Noble yesterday and remember seeing Tales of Despereaux Frindle Half Magic Non of the others seemed appealing to my son, so I did not pay much attention to them
KS_
Thanks all! I guess we might have to sign up this year!
Prairie~Phlox
You don't even have to really sign up, you just can print the sheet of of on-line and have your child fill it out, take it to the store and they give you a coupon. It would save a trip that way. :001_smile:
dangermom
A few other selections: Into the land of the unicorns Ramona, age 8 Castle in the attic An American Girl mystery (Kaya) I didn't think much of the early reader choices.
