moonlight
my plan is to study animals and the human body next year with my boys (ages 6 and 10). i like to take little breaks and do smaller units on science topics that are completely different so i'm looking for unit studies, fun books, shorter curriculum type suggestions for chemistry, engineering and physics...we studied chemistry this year, so i would especially like suggestions for physics since i've found something called engineering is elementary that i want to try out next year too...but i'm happy to hear about anything that is out there! thanks, seema

FairProspects
We've been happy with GEMS science units and are planning on using Intellego next year (along with Engineering is Elementary too).
Down_the_Rabbit_Hole
We did a neat unit on Rainbows (really on light) using a Magic School Bus kit. It was very interesting. I made it last 6 weeks but could be done in a 2-3 weeks.
ClassicMom
We really enjoy the Magic School Bus kits here too. We add some library books to make a unit around the subject. I've found that there are a lot of MSB kits that complement the units in the Complete Book of Science. My son has learned a lot this way.
