Sweet Home Alabama
Hoping to make a beneficial contribution... I found this webpage that has tests for Conceptual Physics. http://www.millerphysics.com/conceptual-physics-practice-tests.html

Kareni
Thank you for the link; I see some other interesting stuff on the site namely links to You Tube videos that deal with Physics. Regards, Kareni

Sweet Home Alabama
Ladies, After asking so many questions about 9th grade physics, I was relieved to find something helpful to contribute to the subject.... or so I thought. When I found this site and read the title, I wrongly assumed that the tests correlated with the CP text. It really didn't occur to me to confirm this. As it turns out, these tests go with Kinetic Books Principles of Physics which is harder than CP. You can find this information here: http://www.millerphysics.com/uploads/9/3/9/5/939574/physics_syllabus_2011-2012.pdf on page 2. Also see Cynthia OK's post here: http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4045941&postcount=5 I am so sorry for posting incorrect information. I did email Mr. Miller to ask him about the tests, and expect him to offer suggestions about using them. I wrote him when I thought the tests were written for the CP text. If/when he answers my email questions, I'll pass on his recommendations. I've learned my lesson... always confirm information before posting. Asking forgiveness... I think the tests on his website (if one looked at the BOTTOM of the page) it says "Addison Wesley" and AW publishes Hewitt's Conceptual Physics. I looked at the Kinetic Books site and they have no association with AW. So most likely those .pdf tests do tie in with Hewitt's Conceptual Physics. Looking forward to seeing what Mr. Miller says. Keep us in touch. :)
MyThreeSons
As it turns out, these tests go with Kinetic Books Principles of Physics which is harder than CP. ...snip .... I am so sorry for posting incorrect information. ...snip .... Asking forgiveness... You have done nothing wrong! I believe that while Mr. Miller uses KB in his class, he has provided the other practice tests as, well, practice. Those practice tests definitely have the "flavor" of Hewitt's CP materials, and they look like other CP materials I've seen. The practice tests you linked to most definitely are not connected to KB's text. The titles of each chapter test do not correspond to chapter titles in KB. If you dig around on the site, you can find old tests (he calls them assessments) that he uses that go more directly with the KB text. In any case, thanks for posting. I have found lots of good stuff to use with my co-op Physics class.

On his links page he has a link to the website for the Conceptual Physics textbook that he is referring to, and it is the one by Hewitt. You did nothing wrong. :001_smile:
Miss Marple
Don't worry! Those are probably still very useful for any CP course.
amyable
I just took Hewitt's 3rd Edition of Conceptual Physics (high school version) off my shelf and the chapter titles are matching up exactly (I didn't go through the whole thing after 12 or so chapters :) ). Now, I don't know if the *content* is matching up, but it looks like it was based off the CP book.
