For example, when we dissected a bony fish we counted the number of fins; found the tongue, gills, and eyes,and looked at a scale under our scope. Then, after I cut it open we found the brain, swim bladder, stomach, intestines, and muscles. Don't forget to look at the external features and (possibly) have your children draw the specimen. We are science nuts in our house, so I know everyone would love being able to disect something together. Can someone please tell me how you go about getting the materials and specimens to do so?
