ravinlunachick
A friend of mine shared it on Facebook, and it really struck a chord with me. Hopefully it can touch someone here in the same way. :) There’s this crazy phenomenon going on right now. Good, devoted mothers get on Pinterest . . . and blogs . . . and Facebook . . . and Twitter . . . and then they flip through parenting magazines and TV channels (full of advertisements and media hype) . . . and they’re convinced they’re not enough. http://powerofmoms.com/2012/04/your-children-want-you/
Jean in Newcastle
The part about her mom made me cry because I feel the same way about my mom.
Starr
But that Easter Bunny bread is tempting. :D It is a lovely article.

Cassy
Yes, that certainly did strike a chord. I'll definitely be taking a closer look at that website. Thanks, Ravin' :001_smile:. Cassy
Rhonda in TX
The part about her mom made me cry because I feel the same way about my mom. Me, too, although the difference is that I lost mine 7 years ago. Boy, do I miss her. :(
FLDebbie
Thank you for posting this. My mom has Alzheimer's and I miss my "real" mom so much. I also am sad that my kids will never experince what a wonderful woman she way (although they love her just the way she is because that's all they know). I need to think about all the wonderful (metaphorical) gifts my mom gave to us long before the days of computers whenever I'm feeling less than adequate. chickenpatty
The part about her mom made me cry because I feel the same way about my mom. I read that article yesterday and I thought the same thing, only about my grandma who raised me.

momto2Cs
Thank you so much for sharing that! I have definitely had my fair share of days where I feel I can never be enough, and this article is a lovely reminder that I just need to be who I am for my kids. Word Nerd
The part about her mom made me cry because I feel the same way about my mom. I teared up when I got to that part, too. Glad I get to see Mom this weekend.
Amy Jo
Thanks. It's been a discouraging day. My Mom died 11 years ago, I wish I could talk to her again.
Mrs Mungo
I wish women were not so hard on themselves. I just got back home from drinks with a friend. When she texted me, she said, "I am dressed sloppy," and I said, "good, then I have no pressure to dress up!!!" I made rainbow jello once and my kids are still talking about it several years later, lol!
Medieval Mom
I wish women were not so hard on themselves. :iagree: Thanks for this thread, OP. It's an excellent reminder for all of us. Carrie-txmama2six
I saw it Facebook the other morning, and it made me cry. It is hard not to want to do it all, but I seem to be able to only do a couple of things well at a time.
lauracolumbus
I don't have a domestic bone in my body, so I really don't care whether or not I can make ice cream cone grilled cheese. I do need to appreciate those days of snuggling/laughing together in bed as a whole family. In fact, we need to do that again ASAP b4 my kids think they're too old. Thank you for sharing this. AmyontheFarm
My mom isn't in our lives right now. It makes me sad, but I know it is for all our safety. My son just informed me that they were ready for me to read History to them. I'm off to just be with my kids. Snuggling, tickling and laughing together.
