MSNative
This summer I'd like to come up with some hands on projects for my older boys (10, 12) to do so they can learn some real life skills. I'm thinking woodworking, basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry etc. Any ideas? So far, this is all I have planned: Plan, attach and build drainage pipe for one part of our yard. Rebuild part of brick edging wall that was damaged in storms.
thescrappyhomeschooler
After they're done at your house, can you send them over here? I have some practical/life skill lessons they can learn here! I need someone to repaint a wooden fence, lower a gate on another fence, haul and level some dirt, set up a canopy. I'm sure I could think of other activities that could give them some life skills! :D Seriously though, do you have anywhere you could have them install a simple light fixture? Like in a garage or barn or closet or some place that would be easy to wire? They'd need some help, but that's a great lesson.

linders
- Wash a car properly. - Change the washer in a faucet. - Fix a window/door screen. A simple tool and some screen material and you can do it yourself. These happen to be some things we did with DS11 recently.
