Pamela H in Texas
Okay, I found a vehicle I think I want. Because it has fewer miles on it and the company it is through, I'm feeling pretty good about it. But in order to be absolutely sure before it would have to be shipped up here (free through dealership), I'd like someone to eyeball it for me. Does it have a funky smell? Does it make any crazy sounds? Is it stained badly inside in a way pics don't tell me? Or is it generally fine? Does that service exist? melissad2
Hmmm...no chance you know anyone in the area that the vehicle is located? No chance it's in SC? My Dh would be happy to look at it :). Maybe you could call a mechanic in the area and ask what they would charge to give it a once over for you?
brett_ashley
nearly all mechanics do this. Mine charges $40.
Pamela H in Texas
B_A, but you would usually take it TO them, right? This vehicle is about 4½ hours from me.

brett_ashley
My mechanic met me at the lot. I guess you might need to pay a little more for a mechanic you don't have an existing relationship with.
