Mom2legomaniacs
I love love love the way my ds (6 but not for much longer) says dump. He says it kind of like "domp". He doesn't say it as an "uh" sound. It is so stinking cute I make him say it a lot.

Once
Yeah I have one of them right now too. Too funny! I thought dh and I were the only ones that noticed. Everyone else looks :001_huh: when I giggle at him.
beansprouts
Said brothers and sisters have no clue what they're saying. Thank God. Ah! I assumed then knew darned well what they were saying ;) I remember a couple of years ago dd learned there was a correct usage for the word @ss. It was even in one of her favorite Christmas carols! She got such a kick out of singing it because she could say a "bad" word and get away with it  I did squash that one before it got out of hand.... LisaKinVA
When my oldest was about 2, he pronounced Ice as "as*" My brother thought it would be funny to get him to say "Big Ice Fish" at Red Lobster one evening... UGH. My 4yo pronounced "souveneir" as "soupeneir" too cute, but he's since corrected himself. I can only imagine the truck...
Nakia
This reminds me. When my now 7 yr old was 2, she loved to sing "Ring Around the Posies". But instead of ashes, she sang *ssholes, *ssholes, we all fall down. I am laughing out loud just thinking about that!!

3lilreds in NC
My niece used to say "fire truck" the same way that your ds says truck and it was SO cute. My sister tried to tell me that she said "fruck." Not so much, I assure you. I had a ball getting my Faithy to say fire truck! I am sure my sister will have her revenge with Schmooey. :D
Holly IN
My niece did the same thing when she was 2. It was hilarious because she said it during a birthday party at my house. She looked out the window and said it. Everybody paused and shook their head in wonder if that is what she said or not. My bil said yep she said it guys!! Holly
Maria from IN
I had a little cousin who said the same thing, and was especially enamored by the garbage truck. Said cousin was in the yard one day when the garbageman came, and he shouted that particular rendition of the word while pointing directly at it--and the garbageman. God bless that man for simply smiling and waving...he must have heard it before.:001_huh: You know what I mean.

Unicorn.
Nope. It won't be a T-ruck for at least 7 more mos! At least that's how it played out at our house!
Guest Virginia Dawn
Thankfully my ds said "chuck" for truck. When we were driving down the highway and a truck passed us he would look out the window and say "up chuck." :-)
~Tara~
LOL Um, that would be my husband at that age. Yep. And his mom tells me he said it often and LOUDLY :p I just get 'thuck' around here from my dd and 'suck' from Boo. Not nearly as *exciting* :giggle:
beansprouts
I don't remember my older children substituting that particular consonant at the beginning of "truck". I think they both said something more like "guck". I don't know if I can get used to this... :tongue_smilie:
