Bang!Zoom!
I thought I had a abscess coming on; turns out it was a popcorn kernel that was stuck in my teeth for a week now. NEVER EVER EVER eatin' popcorn again.
thescrappyhomeschooler
Ouch! That is the bad part of popcorn! :grouphug:

ErinD
Yep. That's why I don't eat it either. Every couple of years I think"Oh, it was just a fluke last time" and take a couple of pieces....and spend a week in pain trying to pry a kernel out of a molar. You'd think I'd learn, but, y'know...ADHD...seems like a good idea at the time....
melissad2
I know what you mean! I rarely eat popcorn anymore either. My teeth are really close together so it's easy for one of those suckers to get lost in there!
Pippen
My daughter has had three dentist visits for that reason. Needless to say, no more popcorn for her.
kathymuggle
May I add woody herbs to this list? The worst pain I was ever in over food was caused by a dried thyme stick stuck in my gums between my molars. Ouch! I had thought my tooth had splintered -and a splinter was sticking out! Denisemomof4
I have had that happen before. I usually do a search now when I have popcorn.
SeekingSimplicity
I went to the dentist a couple weeks ago thinking I had cavities and needed fillings in 2 teeth that had been hurting for a while. It was a popcorn husk down below the gum line; every time I flossed I was pushing it down further. He said there was no way I could have gotten it out on my own. Dustybug
I'm a bit sorry I clicked on this thread! OUCH! I hope you are feeling better now. :grouphug: Me too! ...especially since we just had a big bowl of popcorn last night.:leaving:
Mama_Rana
I was just at the dentist, and apparently the cleaning loosened some piece of popcorn hull. I can't REMEMBER the last time I ate popcorn. It might have been in there for months! :(:001_huh:
