Mandylubug
We are a netflix family and have found the Documentary Series "Wild China" very suitable for our studies of Ancient China so far. In SOTW V1 AG; it recommends The Story of Ping.. in this fun story Ping the duck meets "fishing birds". The first episode of Wild China also shows "fishing birds".. my kids are LOVING the series so far and hopefully we can use it for future Ancient China discussions... Thought I would pass along the info :) I haven't previewed the other episodes so watch at your own risk, ha ha! eta: I hate it when the title of a thread isn't typed correctly.. I meant China Studies not series :( Edited March 23, 2012 by Mandylubug
momto2Cs
We loved Wild China! So many beautiful shots, and so much good information. My kids have watched it again since just for fun! You might look at The Story of India on Netflix too - has at least one episode on ancient India when you're studying that.
PeacefulChaos
Thanks! We have Wild China in our Netflix queue - haven't gotten around to watching it, though. I'm always on the lookout for things like that. :)
MomatHWTK
We watched Episode 1 of this one today, it merged nicely with our SOTW and VP self-paced studies. http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Legacy_The_Origins_of_Civilization/70213212?trkid=2361637

Amie
We loved Wild China series too! And speaking of fishing birds...I remember watching a "Sunrise Earth" episode (LOVE that show) that spent a morning showing those fishermen and their birds (can't remember if it was in China specifically though) just in case you ever come across that one somewhere--beautiful! leeannpal
We are moving toChina next year, so we've watched quite a few. Our favorite has been Chinese School. It is about the education system in China. We saw the episodes on PBS, but I found it on youtube as well.http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL482864523346BBE6
