Sandragood1
I'm looking for a 1 year American History for a 7th grader. Her reading is labored (vision issues) so I'm not looking for anything super challenging. We haven't done American history since she was young and I am seeing that she needs it. I did Hakim's Story of US before, but I don't see how that would work here. Thanks, Sandra P.s. less religious is better, but it is not a requirement. Sandragood1
I don't think I have heard of those. Off to check them out! Thanks, Sandra
Ann@thebeach
How about the Teaching Company High School American History DVD? Many have used it for middle school ages too. Your library might even have it.

Cynful
Does she like any hands-on? How about Homeschool in the Woods' Time Travelers series? It would take you just through WWII and then you could just add in a few modern books. Oh, and you can just add in any book she might like during it's time period. There are tons of lists. Just a thought... :) Good luck,
SunnyDays
Another option to consider: Notgrass America the Beautiful. It is a textbook style program, but has timeline and map work. It's a very full year. It *is* quite a Christian program, but you could leave out a few of the readings... perhaps look at the online samples to see if it's workable for you: http://www.notgrass.com/notgrass/America-the-Beautiful-Resources/
lauracolumbus
We're doing All American History here in 1 year w/o the workbooks. Laura
