Bang!Zoom!
A New Trivium and Quadrivium George Bugliarello http://www.sigmaxi.org/meetings/archive/forum.2001.online.tri.shtml This is (for me) a pretty interesting little article. He talks in it about how the Trivium & Quadrivium may need expanded or explored for current technology to fit into it. The paragraph where it says: An education cannot be called truly humanistic if it fails to look at humans in the context of the evolutionary history of the biosoma and its projections into the future. The heritage of the medieval trivium and quadrivium that remains at the core of our humanities education is simply inadequate to do so. I had no idea what biosoma is as a term before this. One of his papers (G. Bugliarello) is here: http://online.liebertpub.com/doi/abs/10.1089/ees.2006.0285 look for the PDF file if inclined. Good stuff!
