NotAVampireLvr
Am I crazy? A lot of library materials we'd get a lot quicker if we owned a VCR or Cassette player. Am I nuts for considering purchasing a used VCR for this purpose? I don't think I can bring myself to purchase a cassette player.
frugalmama
Nope not nuts at all. We have both and they are used daily or close to it. I am stickinng with VHS as long as I can - I can buy vhs tapes for .25 each and DD can do it herself.
LuvToRead
I don't think it's nuts at all. You can find VCR's for less than $10 at yard sales and thrift stores. I personally feels older ones last longer than new ones, anyway. Most of the videos in my library system are still VHS tapes. My own library has about 10 DVD's and tons of VHS tapes. Plus, I always come across old movies on VHS for a dollar or less at yard sales. So, for us, it's worth owning a VCR. However, we don't have a cassette player that actually works. JudoMom
We have VCR/DVD combo machines and the VCR gets used quite a bit, at least in the playroom for educational type VHS tapes we own.
