Please Pray for Rough Collie - Angioplasty and stents

Recommended Posts

in less than an hour. She has peripheral vascular disease and had 3 stents put in only a few months ago. She's going to need more stents now - some aortic stents and possibly one in her femoral artery in her leg. She had a mini collapse in her shower just a couple of days ago that is worrisome. Hopefully all the tests they do before the procedure will give them wisdom on how to proceed.

Please pray:

1. That she comes through the procedure ok. It's routine but not without risks.

2. That they are able to get the stents in the right place. The last time they had some trouble due to how many she needed just in one area.

3. That there are no complications. Last time she came home she had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance because she was bleeding out from her incision.

4. That if they tell her to stay overnight that she does it!

5. That the femoral artery one really helps her. She's been in pain when walking for months.

6. And that if she knows what's good for her that she calls me with updates! She promised.

Update: I just heard from Roughcollie. She is still in recovery. She has had two stents put in - one in each leg. She is not allowed to go until she can walk with out pain. She is finding it painful to lie flat on her back. She is uncharacteristically subdued. But she told me that I had to make this update cheerful.

So glad to hear that all went well. Hoping they can reduce her pain somewhat - just enough so she doesn't feel so badly, but not enough that she's walking around and doing this :toetap05: and waiting for discharge papers. :tongue_smilie: I remember last time how she wasn't the best about following orders once she got home ... ;)

Will be keeping her in my prayers. Tell her I send her :grouphug:s.

P.S. - RC says to say thank you to everyone. She wants to come on and do it herself but in her drugged state she can't remember her password. Apparently she did tell me her password (I do vaguely remember this) but being rather flakey in the mental department, I can't for the life of me remember it. Hopefully once her meds wear off she'll be able to remember and can come back to talk to us in person. Until then, I can say anything about her that I want! Bwahahahahahaha!

I think you should start by sharing her secrets.:lol::lol:

Seriously, I'm sad she is in pain.

Very good to hear that she's recovering well, and is in good hands - not just at the hospital, but also at home and here at The Hive :)

Thanks so much for the update. I hate when I read these types of threads, get emotionally vested, then .... nothing. I'm a worse-case-scenario worrier!
