Say you were using a great math program and knew perhaps you could be a little better at teaching it. Would you attend a one-day seminar? Please pick the circumstance that describes you best. (Poll coming.)

If you vote to go if it were cheaper, what would be a decent price?

TIA!

I chose Other. I just flat out would not be interested in a seminar. If I thought I could do a better job, I'd figure out what I needed to do to do it.

I voted go if cheaper. It would have to be a LOT cheaper. Like 10-20 dollars tops. I would have to figure in gas to the 'big city' which would probably run me about 20 bucks, as well as 'child care' for the kids either paying for it or having to give up another whole day worth of time to watch their kids in return. So while it sounds nice, I just see it probably better as a webinar type presentation.

If I've already spent money on the curriculum, I'd say no more than $20.

And I've have to be REALLY motivated - as in, figure it was THE best out there, and I just needed help implementing. But really - a webinar would be more my style.

I do not believe a one day seminar can enhance my math teaching abilities.

I believe a thorough mastery of mathematics beyond the level I am teaching is the only thing that can improve my teaching, and this can not be achieved in a one day course.

ETA: If I rely on a math program, I would expect a good program to be set up in a way that it is optimum for teaching and spell out exactly what one has to do, without taking an extra training course.
