faiths13
for some of your books, do you feel the age range for reading they give is accurate? im just trying to judge on some books i found, thanks
Amy Jo
Hmmm, I think it's hard to assign ages. Quite often it seems the ages listed are the reading age, not the comprehending age. I was reading Marshall's "Beowulf Retold for Children" (ages 11-14??) to DS9, and DS7 was listening, and wanted to draw a narratation from it instead of CHOW. So they both enjoyed and understood, even if they couldn't read it alone. I find I look at the ages, but I don't base decisions on them. I'd rather see how long the chapters are, read a random chapter, etc. Can you say which books? That might help. And interest level will make a big difference. Beowulf is a super hero in my son's eyes, so he pays rapt attention.
