Amy in NH
I thought I saw something about a national? mythology exam quite a long time ago on the old board. Does anyone know anything about this? TIA!
Jane in NC
is for students in elementary school through ninth grade. My son took the exam in 8th grade. Grades 6 - 9 answer 30 basic questions, then answer questions from a specific work. Students may choose from The Iliad, Odyssey, Aeneid, etc. Read more about it here: http://www.etclassics.org/NMExam.html The National Mythology Exam is given by the same people who do an exploratory Latin exam, a pre-National Latin Exam. A greater challenge is the Medusa Mythology exam. You can download a sample test from the website. My son told me the other day that he'd like to do the Medusa next year. He loves mythology but found the sample Medusa to be tough. You can download a sample test and get more information at: http://www.medusaexam.org/index-1.html Have fun, Jane
Anne/Ankara
We've done it several times in the past-- it is a nice exam. I believe that they tell you in advance which chapters of the Illiad (was it that book?) to read before taking the exam, so that you don't have to know the whole thing. It was easy to administer at home, and there are nice ribbons and such for outstanding achievement.
