4maybabies
How is it going? What are your thoughts on the two programs? I'm really tempted to start it with my DS4 (5 in May)...
burkeymouse
I have been using PAL reading and writing with my Kindergartener and he loves it! I feel it's very thorough. We have a great time playing the games and he is mastering the basic concepts. Very pleased!

EmilyGF
You can definitely use just the reading part. The poetry is great. Remember to go at your child's pace, not the curriculum's. (Some lessons will stretch to two days or more, some will be combined, depending on the child. Some games will be played many times, some few.) I found it too overwhelming to use with my 5 yo, but I have a 7yo, 5yo, 3yo, and needy newborn. We're keeping things super-simple now with 15 min of phonics pathways each day. We're still doing poetry, though. I really like the use of poetry. My daughter really liked PAL worksheets, but I just felt like I was too busy. We do PL worksheets at her request now. 4maybabies
Ok...I just purchased both:001_smile: Really looking forward to it!
Targhee
We use Writing (not reading). I didnt really like the handwriting program (personal preference) so we used HWT with pleasing results in place of the handwriting. I think it is a good, gentle program. It is meaningful work and leads right into SWI.
