Maybe a dumb question - name and date?

Usually we don't, but when we do, I have Ariel put it on the left side of the top margin, starting at the vertical line, date below the name. When I was elementary school, that was how we did it. Otherwise I would use the top two lines, then skip a line or two and start writing.

I remember in school that every teacher had a different convention, so we just had to remember where it was for that particular class. Many did upper righthand corner, but some did left. For a student with spacing issues, the left side would probably be waaaaay easier. ;)

Hmm. Okay, maybe it is not such a dumb question after all. It doesn't sound like everyone is making their dc write name and date.

Due to writing automaticity issues, this kid needs to practice writing his full name on every paper. I guess I could try out a couple of different methods and see what works best.

So far, I only have one kid schooling (officially), so I haven't required it yet. I will eventually. I probably should now to get him in the habit. I've just been lazy. :tongue_smilie: I do think it's a good idea, as even when we'd done it since K or 1st grade, it wasn't unusual to have one or two people turn in papers in high school without a name. ;) And even homeschooled kids have to put their names on their papers when they go to college. :)

I have her put her name on the top left and I date it for her on the top right. Exactly what I define as "top left" or "top right" varies based on paper and mood. Could be the corner, or the first proper line. I'm not that particular on that point quite yet. :D Artwork I do the bottom right, if possible.
