LucyStoner
So my son is learning Spanish as his primary foreign language. This was decided mainly because my husband is fluent and because it seemed the most immediately useful language. Later on we would like to add another living language. We do a little Latin but it is not the main focus of our language studies but it does help with history, spelling and of course latin based languages. I am wondering if and how people here might be integrating foreign language studies with other subjects. I am considering having him practice his cursive in Spanish and maybe doing things like some cooking and art in Spanish to reinforce the Spanish language learning. If you do something like this, please share. Also if you don't recommend it for whatever reason, please share. We are committed to him being at least bilingual as one of our main goals with homeschooling.
redsquirrel
you might want to check out the bilingual education forum here. There are other parents doing this for any number of reasons.
