edeemarie
I need some type of handwriting program that is good to brush up on handwriting already learned this year. My son just completed Cheerful Cursive and my daughter Happy Handwriting, but I want some sort of workbook or copywork that will help them keep up with good handwriting. I find if I let them do too much free writing without handwriting instruction that their handwriting gets sloppy. Any suggestions?
Walking-Iris
Handwriting Without Tears possibly? They're pretty quick little workbooks and you can maybe skip parts that would be redundant. I use HWT as my main handwriting program, but I have my son doing a zaner bloser workbook so he doesn't forget that cursive. The different styles hasn't thrown him off at all. he just meshes them together to make his own unique cursive style, still totally legible and pretty. acrosier
Yes, Handwriting Without Tears. We have used it since kindergarten and really like it. It has a cursive learning book and then a cursive extra practice type book.
WhatLight
I'll third Handwriting Without Tears. I've used grades/levels, K, 1, 2 & my daughter just started 3 (cursive) and I (and my kids) have been more than happy with the program. nansk
I would suggest printing copywork books from currclick.com or lulu.com. I agree with you that regular handwriting practice is needed till it becomes second nature. ETA: Handwriting Without Tears is different from Cheerful Cursive (esp. the letter slant). If you need additional handwriting instruction, you would be better off with Zaner-Bloser. Edited February 26, 2012 by nansk
Mommy2BeautifulGirls
You could also generate your own copy work pages. I think there are some free sites out there where you can make them, but I'm not sure of specific ones, just that I've seen them before. :D
