jillian
So dd wants to learn about floods. Why they happen, where they happen, etc. She asked all on her own. Any good websites?
Bang!Zoom!
Try the Weather Channel by CNN, there is a series of instruction there for kids. It's good stuff for a weather buff. Also, if you are on Twitter, they will answer questions for you one on one. When Joplin hit, Mike Bettes was there of course, and we struck up a friendship then. Twitter is really good for this stuff. We send him pictures now and then of cloud formations here that we can't figure out exactly, and they reply very fast, usually within an hour. jillian
Not on Twitter but I'm pretty sure dh is. I will check out Weather Channel. This is a child who asks for the Weather Channel in the early mornings to let me go ahead and sleep a bit more.
3Blessings
I don't know about websites, but my son (who loves any kind of physical science- including weather-related issues) really enjoys the DK Eyewitness or Eyewonder books and the Usborne books. Oftentimes, the Usborne books (Science and otherwise) are internet-linked. HTH

roanna
We use the iPad to watch YouTube videos together of volcanoes, snakes , whatever he's into. I do have a filter on so the inappropriate videos don't sneak in.
jillian
My library is terrible. It's unorganized, and has very little in way of anything of factual educational value.
Tanikit
We have just had a small flood this week with very heavy thunderstorms so my DD (also 4) has also wanted to know about them. I found this site: www.weatherwizkids.com/weather-rain.htmhad enough information for her and answered the questions she did have.
jillian
Thank you everyone. I recently found a bunch of stuff in books/resources we had on hand (just took some looking in different places). It's also perfect that she's interested because we are having some heavy rain today.
