swellmomma
Are any of you either in the UK or in other commonwealth countries doing anything to teach about the Queen's Diamond Jubilee? If so what?
freerange
We're watching a BBC series with Andrew Marr called The Diamond Queen. As with just about all his series, it's proving interesting and educational. Ties in nicely with our modern history readings too!

Do youknow if this series is available on youtube? hmm, I wonder if my library has it.
lailasmum
I hadn't even thought about it. My sister got involved a tree planting project to make jubilee woods. I might try and see if there is anything like that where I live. I think she did it through work as she is a civil servant.
Cassy
We're not doing anything special, I'm not at all interested in the Royal Family (actually, they irritate me). We have discussed it briefly, as our local town has bunting out everywhere and the kids wanted to know why. We've also talked about how the Coronation caused our grandparents to buy their first televisions! Best wishes Cassy
