chickenpatty
Five times in the past few days, this has happened to me. I wasn't doing anything unusual or twisting or bending when it happened. The pain is so bad when it comes that I double over. What on earth is causing it? I have not injured it, and I haven't even been running in almost 2 weeks. Any ideas? swellmomma
I would think a nerve suddenly getting pinched for a few seconds, or a ligament getting pulled. I get it on occasion in my knees and hips. Like I have suddenly been stabbed through the joint. I have had it happen when sitting still so no movement to cause it, but also when going to take a step (those times are fun, as the pain hits and I nearly fall over because it is hard to hold my weight up in that moment). I figured it was connected to my Plantar Fasc...(not sure how to spell that one), anyway it was quite severe in the 1 foot with full leg up to the hip involvement, the other foot has it but not at severe. I figured it was all connected. Given that I have been dealing with daily pain from the PF in the 1 foot/leg for a few months now I would not be surprised if it was connected (though usually it is in my "good" leg that I get this pain, I think because it is over compensating for the "bad" leg)
Momof3littles
It could be several things but it is hard to say based on your description. There's obviously no way to know without getting an evaluation. Is it like a burning sensation? Something like a small meniscus tear can present that way. Sometimes a little flap is created via an injury (sometimes from something so minor you didn't know you really injured your knee) and certain positions cause it to feel snagged. Is it worse when you get up from sitting for a while? Worse going up and down the stairs? Any popping, clicking, or burning? Can you straighten fully? Does straightening or bending cause pain? Treha
I've been having this issue off and on for 2 months now. It's ruining my quality of life. MRi and x-ray show a perfectly stable knee. Cortisone shot in knee 4 days ago and the pain is back. Next up an MRI of my spine and 2 other specialists. Does anyone have an answer??
