mamapjama
There is a special on them here at the moment for $15. Is a subscription worth it? Did your child enjoy the magazines?
Bensmom
Is it worth it? That is a tough call for me. My son enjoyed the magazines, but not like I thought he would (and he was in a real animal-loving stage when we got them). His favorite part was drawing pictures of the animals that would be featured in upcoming issues and submitting them to be in the mag. His pics were never chosen for the magazine, but they were put on a special part of their website for everyone to view. He loved that ;) They are beautiful magazines though and would be a nice supplement to your science. If I had it to do over, I would probably still buy them. As a side note, your local library probably carries the hardback versions of the magazine if you want to view a few issues.
Mommee & Baba
I'm torn on it too. We ordered zoobooks and the kids national geographic. My kids were so excited to get them but after a couple months I noticed they didn't have the interest like they once did. Our subs just came up for renewal and I didn't renew. I'd rather wait until my kids show a bit more interest.

I am a keen reader of the National Geographic Magazine as I love all these use of photography, its just incredible, and I also enjoy showing my children all the images, sometimes I feel children books dont offer enough diveristy in them. And really are too restrictive. If any uses other websites to get books I would higly recommed sites such as Talking Book Store which has a huge collection of audio books available, or bookshouldbefree is another favourite to get clasic literature from, and if you need a daily deal try group on for ebooks. If I am after a hard back I always end up going to my my towns charity shops and its great way to give to charity and stay green. Cinder
My dd loves Zoobooks but ours are hand-me-downs that my sil kept from her dd's. We've had them a few years now and dd still loves them. She is a serious animal lover, though. When we go to the library she gets a dozen or so books from the non-fiction section on animals. She's not too interested in other kinds of books. Unless they're about animals.
