Daisy
If we were to start using Omnibus in high school, which one would we start with? It appears that according to the VP catalog, all of the Omnibus can be used for high school credit. If we jumped in with Omnibus III are we going to have missed out on foundational books covered in I & II? Is it better to just start at the beginning and do Omnibus I-IV? Musicmom
I used Omnibus III with ds and now with dd. It seems to me like it pretty much stands alone (I think VP even says it's written so you can start there.) We actually started with Omnibus II (never did Omnibus I) and I do remember it referred to Omnibus I a fair amount. For example, some of the discussion questions and some of the essay questions in the evaluations (the equivalent of tests) would ask the student to compare something from Omni II with something from Omni I, but it was easy enough to skip those questions--and on the evaluations, there were always 2 or 3 essay questions from which to choose, so we'd choose one that didn't rely on Omnibus I. It really wasn't a problem--we liked Omnibus II very much. So I'd say you can choose based on what time period you want to study and the works you want to cover.
