Colleges for music but not classical?

My daughter is looking for a college that specializes in music, but not classical music. She is a singer, guitar player, songwriter, and has a couple CD's out. But, she could certainly benefit from a music school, and would like to pursue a degree in higher education. Most music colleges specialize in classical music, not the indie/folk style that she does. Suggestions?

Florida State? I went there for grad. school. We used to listen to jazz and rock/folk groups practice at lunch on the music school patio.

UGA?- The birth place of all things rock for a while, just not in the actual college institution.

Wesleyan in CT - seems to be a huge magnet for creative types of all sorts these days.

Belmont has been mentioned several times. The Curb College does not require an audition, but does have a song-writing track through one of their BS degrees. They also have a commercial music degree (BM) through their school of music that has a songwriting track (I think). School of music requires an audition.

University of Miami has MANY music programs/degrees including contemporary voice and contemporary guitar in performance as well as many music business variations. It is a VERY expensive school, however.

Florida State has a commercial music degree. Both of the commercial music degrees at Belmont and FSU really have about two years of standard classical training built into them. Florida State's really gives you a minor in standard business courses. Belmont's Music Business gives a foundation in standard business courses and then jr. and sr. year courses are business courses specific to music business.

USC also has a popular music degree which is highly selective.

My daughter visited Berklee last summer and she fell in love with it. I was impressed that they seem to place a high emphasis on having on getting their students employed post Berklee. They also have a tract for the business of music. Their musical emphasis is much more jazz than classical.
