melissad2
Any tried and true home remedies for a sore throat that I can do while 29 wks pregnant? It is just starting to itch and feel yucky! I also have horrible allergies that only rear their ugly head when I'm pregnant and I have been managing them with Zyrtec and chlortrimeton. Have I mentioned that I loathe having a sore throat?!? athena1277
I suck on lozenges with zinc when I get a sore throat (Cold-eeze is one brand). Usually 2 (a few hours apart) is all it takes to make it go away. I call it my miracle cure. :tongue_smilie: I don't know if extra zinc would have an effect on baby or not, so you may want to check with your doc first. milovany
I gargle (and drink) water with some grapefruit seed extract in it. ETA -- I didn't see the "pregnant" part before I posted. DO google to make sure it's okay to use gfs when pregnant. Edited February 14, 2012 by milovaný
melissad2
Thanks for the suggestions! I have gargled with salt water for tonight and if it is still lingering tomorrow I am going to turn myself into an experiment and try some of these out! :D
Mimmy
What works in my house is cutting out all sugar for a few days and getting plenty of sleep. Hope you feel better soon!
