UKLondon-Dad
Would just like some opinions really on how our ds's, (6 in April) , handwriting looks. I have a hard time getting him to hold pencil correctly, as he tends to wrap his thumb around top. Also, he says he feels more comfortable when the pencil is more vertical than slanted. http://s1152.photobucket.com/albums/p496/homedad1/ Thanks Gary ds 5, dd2, dd11m, ds11
2squared
His handwriting is better than my 7yo (2nd grade). My 7yo hates to write, and any writing usually involves tears.
mytwomonkeys
your 5 year old's handwriting is phenomenal. really. the only concern about his grip would be whether or not it's uncomfortable or makes writing a labor for him. if neither is an issue, i wouldn't worry about it. runmiarun
Wow! That looks great! I wish my 6 year old (just turned 6) could write that well. Handwriting is a struggle for him. He hates doing anything that requires handwriting.
amo_mea_filiis.
His handwriting is awesome! My kids' OT stresses proper pencil holding because not doing so can create problems later in life (she's in her 40's and has to retrain her grip). http://www.therapro.com/Start-Right-Pencil-Grip-P4346C4297.aspx http://www.therapro.com/Stetro-Pen-and-Pencil-Grip-P4322C4297.aspx http://www.therapro.com/Grotto-Grip-P186884C4297.aspx
