melissad2
Please help me find one! I had a paper one like you would find on a bulletin board and I hated it! I ripped it down and put it in the trash so now I need another one. Can you link me to one that you have and really like?

Chris in VA
Well, here's what I did-- I took a large, poster-sized, blank calendar (from the teacher store or teacher section of an office supply store) and laminated it with contact paper. I wrote each month on pieces of sentence-strip paper, and wrote dates on sticky notes. We used different shapes of stickies. I had one long, laminated (came that way) sentence strip that I wrote the whole date on, every day, using dry erase. (I also bound together sentence strips with a notebook ring and wrote out patterns, leaving a couple of spaces blank at the end of each; we'd go thru these as part of Saxon 1.) sarahj
We have this one: http://www.orientaltrading.com/classroom-calendar-pocket-chart-a2-62_2017.fltr It has held up and works well as a basic calendar. I wish it had the year on it, but other than that we really like it.
Lara in Colo
I went to the dollar store and got a calendar set and a names of the month set ($2.00--I think). I laminated it and all the day numbers. I put a small square of velcro on each piece and the children put up a new number every day.
A.Balaban
I am working on my calendar.... and I have been for the last six months!! Right now I am making the calendar outline out of posterboard, but I didn't make enough spaces so I have to add on a strip at the end! :auto: Hahaha. At the end of it all, it will be two boards. One, the poster board and laminated numbers (purchased for $1 from Target) with velcro on the back of each number so kids can add a number each day. I found the idea for this board here: http://www.confessionsofahomeschooler.com/blog/2010/04/calendar-time-2.html. The board you can purchase for $2.99- but you have to spend nearly 80$ to get free shipping so I decided to make my own out of poster board. The second board will look something like this when it is done : http://mama-jenn.blogspot.com/search/label/Calendar%20Time
