heidip2p
I would like to try Getty-Dubay for our middle schooler. Which level should I start her at? Level A is for younger ages but I don't want her to miss the basic skills.
Pen
I'd say start either with the one for the grade level child is at, or at Level D which is about midway and has both italic manuscript and cursive. Or else consider the size of line spacing as the main factor. (Level D has 6mm and 5mm spacing, and the higher levels get down to 4mm--I personally, as an adult, find 5mm spacing or slightly narrower to be comfortable, and my son can use that too. Book C starts with 9mm spacing and I'd think it would be uncomfortably wide for a 5th grader if used to regular lined paper.) This is certainly not a program where you need to start at the beginning. All the levels have some review of basic italic. Edited February 6, 2012 by Pen
Heathermomster
The following link contains excerpts and practice download paper: http://www.cep.pdx.edu/titles/italic_series/excerpts.shtml You could get by with the book Write Now. My 5th grader, was introduced to G-B using books E and F. The font is easy to learn and very straight forward.
