Halcyon
At the rate we're going, I am guessing it will take us between 2-3 years to finish book 1. For those of you who have used Henle, can you give me an idea of how long it took for your child to complete Book 1?
Aquinas Academy
:bigear: I'm still trying to get an idea of our pace, but I'm guessing it will take DS a couple years as well. Knowing an average/realistic amount of time to spend would help me plan.
Hunter
We never finished it. We kept switching curricula, and languages. I don't think you even need to finish the book, to move onto book 2, if I remember correctly. It looked to me like book 1--the part that is recommended to finish--covered what was covered at my high school in 3 years. It is not uncommon for public schools to take 3 high school years to cover the basic grammar and only move onto literature in year 4. snowbeltmom
Just to give another data point: my oldest is taking Latin through Memoria Press. The Henle Latin I book is used for both Latin I and Latin II at the high school level.
A.Balaban
I know it takes at least 2 years.
