KrissiK
I have a third grader, a second grader , a kinder and 2 youngers. My two oldest are in SOTW 3 right now and kinder is obviously just learning to read and do math. But I'm thinking about history for next year. We loved SOTW 1 so much that I really want to do it with dd next year when she's in 1st grade. I don't think she'd be able to do what the boys are doing anyhow, but that'll be running 2 separate history classes. Can it be done? Or am I nuts? Melinda
If you are crazy, so am I! I have a 3rd grader, a 2nd grader, a PK, and a 7 month old baby. I was overwhelmed and sent the kids to public school this year for a break, but we are bringing them back home next year. Here's hoping we both find a way to fit it all in without losing our sanity. :)
thyme4tea
I think that would be too much. What I have done when I need to go to the next level in history is I got the SoTW CDs and we listen in a car ride or at home but we didn't do any activities for SOTW 4 we went back and started over with ancients once we listened to the entire SOTW4book (for us we went back and are doing a year of CHOTW) but same idea. Just an idea, I wouldnt let history make your days stressful. Good luck:001_smile:
Lisa in the UP of MI
I plan to run separate history classes for my kids, but ours will be simpler. We'll mostly just be reading books. Could you do a year of American history for your dd? My ds will be in first grade next year and my plan for history is to read through biographies of famous Americans. Narrow Gate Academy
I wouldn't run separate history programs. I second the suggestion for reading American biographies. My first grader enjoyed the series A Picture Book of ... by David Adler. She'll have just as much fun with SOTW 1 if she does it in 2nd grade instead of 1st.
