ekfk
My child is working a year ahead in Language Arts. I have been doing Spectrum Writing 2 for writing. I don't like the kinds of writing assignments she has to do. She has spent the last week writing a lot of riddles and I question if this is really enough to build up solid writing skills. It seems really unchallenging. I would love to get a book that has a mix of fiction and nonfiction writing. She writes really well, so she could handle writing assignments that are more descriptive and creative that what Spectrum Writing requires (even in the grade 3 book). I have her write some nonfiction now, mainly in science. But I would love to have that in a writing book for language arts as well. I homeschool through a charter school, so I have to have a writing book to cover their writing requirement. Otherwise I could do it myself. Any ideas? sagira
You can check out Winning With Writing. Another to consider is Voyages in English.
