mom24arrows
I'm already considering next year's school year stuff. I was considering starting Latin for my 8 yo son. Anyone have any suggestions for a busy 8yo boy? Would love to hear your thoughts and what has worked well for you! Thanks

Aurelia
Ariel will be 8 when we start Latin. I'm pretty sure we're going to be using I Speak Latin.
Lucy the Valiant
Ariel will be 8 when we start Latin. I'm pretty sure we're going to be using I Speak Latin. I just bought I Speak Latin for my 8yo twin girls.
Lisa in the UP of MI
Ariel will be 8 when we start Latin. I'm pretty sure we're going to be using I Speak Latin. The current plan is to start Latin with ds using I Speak Latin when he's in third grade. He'll continue to be informally introduced to Latin through songs and prayers (and probably stories, etc., as dd is already formally learning Latin) until then. Elfknitter.#
Before I had monkey #3 in November, we were doing SSL (we being dd 8, ds 6, and me.) We got bacck to reviewing and moving on in it this month. We'll probably be done in time for SSL2. However, I'm also considering using both GSWL and I Speak Latin either instead of SSL2 or simply with my oldest when we've completed SSL. KristenR
I've been looking at Minimus Mouse and trying to see if we could utilize it or possibly use it as a supplement.
whitestavern
Lively Latin worked surprisingly well for my ds at that age. We took it slow...in fact he just finished LL1--took about 1 1/2 years. We did a page a day the first year and bumped it up to two the second. I think GSWL would've been too dry; I also don't think it's a great standalone program. But I do like it as a supplement.
