Vida Winter
Is there something like Pinterest with filtered content? I love the idea, love about 95% of the pins but can't stomach the 5% of weird stuff on there and don't want my kids to see it either - so I've opted to not visit the site. mommaduck
You can choose to follow only certain people and certain boards, then click at top to see only what you are following. You don't have to view "everything".
scrappyhappymama
Stay on the "Pinners You Follow" page instead of the "Everything" page. As long as you are only following pinners with similar interests, you'll have FAR less questionable content. Occasionally, I'll still see something that I'd rather not, but then I can either unfollow that particular pinner, or simply unfollow one of their boards. For example, I often continue to follow most of someone's pages, but will unfollow just their "humor" board or their "beautiful people" board if they frequently post risque material. In order to have lots of neat content to choose from on my "Pinners You Follow" page, I'll often click through to the boards of the people who pinned something I like. Then, if I like most of their topics, I'll follow all, or sometimes just follow the boards that interest me most. One of my favorite things about Pinterest is being able to customize the content I see!
Vida Winter
Do you have to join Pinterest in order to customize what you see? Is it possible to join if you're not on FB or google?
scrappyhappymama
The best I can tell, you have to sign up the first time through facebook or twitter. But I was able to immediately delink my Pinterest account from my Facebook account and now I log in to Pinterest with my email address instead.
